A Filipino-centric celebration was held last August 26, 2021 to honor this year’s Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa. Despite the challenging times brought about by the pandemic and with the New Normal of Learning, Batangas Eastern Colleges continues to rise on the occasion by showcasing the importance of our native language, the cultural heritage we’ve inherited and everything that symbolizes the identity of being a true-blooded Filipino.
For the Preschool & Grade School (PSGS) Department, the highlights of the festivity took place virtually and were brought to life with a string of activities created for every young learner. Early that day, the program started with a prayer led by Ma’am Baby Rose B. Reglos. It was then followed by the opening remarks of Ma’am Sharon Alday, the PSGS School Principal.
Centered on this year’s theme: “Filipino at mga Katutubong Wika sa Dekolonisasyon ng Pag-iisip ng mga Pilipino”, given by the Commission on Filipino Language, the series of activities and competitions were aimed not only to showcase the talents of the little Beacons. It is also focused on developing the awareness on the importance of recognizing the richness of the Filipino language, understanding our culture and history as well as loving the uniqueness of our identity.
