JULY 7, 2023 – An essay written by Euneil Abu Castillo, LPT, CGSP, MBA (School Administrator, Batangas Eastern Colleges)
I always say that Batangas Eastern Colleges is my HOME. To many, it is an educational institution that is instrumental in their learning and professional pursuits. But for me and to most BEC employees, we consider this learning institution as a FAMILY.
My personal attachment to this organization was deepened by my health condition which required temporary time off for the needed recuperation and medical attention. In 2022, I suffered from two consecutive episodes of intracranial ruptured aneurysms, which was very challenging for the character of my work as a College Instructor and as a School Administrator. Studies revealed that ruptured aneurysms can cause serious health problems such as hemorrhagic stroke, brain damage, coma, and even death. Technology, having its advantages, became very useful as a source of information for a better understanding of my personal health condition.
It is evident that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is very instrumental in managing my work, career, health, and wellness. The AI-generated contents are very helpful in providing customized recommendations in terms of lifestyle habits, algorithms, personalizing dietary preferences, and coping mechanisms toward pertinent lifestyle adjustments and treatment. AI provides relevant and factual information about medications, interprets laboratory findings, and dispenses truths about medical prescriptions so I can fully understand my health condition and manage my peculiar situation through its necessary precautions.
Moreso, Artificial Intelligence (AI) serves as an effective tool for research and task automation and in addressing vital customer concerns in school administration and supervision.
Furthermore, AI is very functional in sustaining my spiritual life as a Roman Catholic. Using TikTok as an influential social media platform, AI supplies me with wonderful articles through my FYP. These short clips are aligned with the algorithm for my intentional spiritual nourishment. While recovering from my illness, I found strength from the short clips of Fr. Fiel Pareja dubbed as “Our Daily Devotions”. Through his clips, I can relate to bible verses through short discussions and practical reflections on the sacred writ. Truly, faith is the substance of things hoped for. (Hebrews 11:1).
