The Grand Alumni Homecoming of the Batangas Eastern Academy Alumni Association, Inc. is held every first Saturday of February every year as per Article I, Section 1 of the association’s by-laws.
Starting Alumni Year 2013- 2014, the BEAAA shall embark on the Progressive Host Batch system wherein batches that have graduated 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 years ahead of the current graduating batch shall automatically be designated host batches. Hosting shall end on the 50th or golden jubilee year of the batch. Batches 10, 15, 20, and 25 shall be actively engaged in planning, organizing, and conducting all alumni affairs and activities for the alumni year by chairing appropriate committees for the year. All the older host batches shall be enjoined to also participate, and help the organizing batches to ensure a successful alumni year. Board Resolution NR 1
For the Alumni Year 2019-2020, no Grand Alumni Homecoming was held because of the eruption of Taal Volcano. Many of our kababayans were by the explosion of the Taal Volcano and the BEC Covered Gymnasium was one of the evacuation sites of the affected families from the nearby municipalities.
No Grand Alumni Homecoming was held for Alumni Years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Three years after the pandemic, the incumbent Board of Trustees started to prepare for the Grand Alumni Homecoming for Alumni Year 2022-2023.
The Grand Alumni Homecoming for the Alumni Year 2022-2023 was held last February 4, 2023 (1st Saturday of February) with the theme: “BEAheng 2023: Matatag na Samahan ng Ating Mahal na Paaralan.”
Why BEAheng 2023? As President of BEAAAI, Engr. Olimpio M. Gusi, mentioned in his message, the alumni’s journey to the year’s homecoming is compared to the traffic signs, RED, YELLOW, and GREEN.
RED, alumni year 2019-2020, the holding of the grand alumni homecoming was stopped due to unavoidable situations in the country like the explosion of the Taal Volcano and the COVID-19 pandemic.0
YELLOW – Alumni year 2020-2021, the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic started to slow down and becoming better. The BOT waited for for the pronouncement that large gatherings are already allowed.
GREEN – alumni year 2021-2022, large gatherings are already allowed with the condition that safety protocols are still to be followed. The BEAAAI Board of Trustees started the preparation for the alumni year grand alumni homecoming and finally, on February 4, 2023, the first face-to-face alumni homecoming after the covid-19 pandemic was held. There were four (4) Silver Jubilarians and four (4) Golden Jubilarians that were recognized. This includes those batches that are supposed to be recognized during the Grand Alumni Homecoming in years 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The year 2023 Grand Alumni was the first homecoming where the Thanksgiving Mass was held on-site instead of attending the mass at the church as practiced during the previous years. The thanksgiving mass was officiated by Fr. JULIUS AMARILLO, a graduate of the Batangas Eastern Academy (BEA) in year 2006.
More than 1,300 alumni from different batches all over the Philippines and even others came from abroad, to join the 2023 Grand Alumni Homecoming.
